Welcome to Photoginny.com!

My name is Ginny Gross-Abbey and I am a photographer, artist, writer and teacher. Please feel free to browse through my portfolio to see my work, and don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested in my photography or teaching services.

My photography interests surfaced when I was very young. I was the daughter, sister, and friend that always had a camera (still am). In high school I was awarded "Photo Student of the Year", and later granted the opportunity to participate in the Kodak Cooperative Education program. I continued my studies at Monroe Community College where I majored in Visual Communications. Then I obtained an amazing job, where I traveled the United States taking photographs for various Colleges and Universities. In 1997 I found my home with a college in the Rochester area. I was the Photographic Coordinator, then Assistant Art Manager and currently College Coordinator. I truly enjoy working within a college setting, good thing since I have never left school. I continue to freelance events throughout the Rochester, Philadelphia and Boston areas as well as in my home studio. My work has been featured in several publications including: Machine Design, Design News, Varden Studios Bride's, Chase-Pitkin Calendar, and countless brochures. I also teach various workshops in digital photography, lighting techniques, Photoshop and 1-1 camera instruction. My current focus is writing, my book of short stories of myself, my family and my experiences along with my blog.
